Formulation and evaluation of niosomes-based chlorpheniramine gel for the treatment of mild to moderate skin allergy

Purpose of present study was to develop eight formulations chlorpheniramine (CPM) niosomes according 23 factorial design, characterise on the basis various evaluation tests, i.e. in vitro drug release, SEM, FTIR, TGA and release kinetics, optimise formulation data, formulate gel optimised dispersion, perform vivo histopathological using dispersion rabbits. Here, N3 having low level cholesterol span-80 but high span-60(0.1:0.2:0.05) selected as that showed highest 88.25% at pH 6 over 24 h followed Korsmeyers-Peppas kinetics with Fickian diffusion mechanism. After application statistic by Analysis variance (ANOVA) 3D surface plots construction, CPM formulated, evaluated tests for viscosity, Spreadability, Extrudibility, content, entrapment, stability, TGA, following first order study. Niosomal ensured successful development suitable combination non-ionic surfactants, effective loading targeted delivery drug.
